They are an eye-catching classic wood finished set with the layout of the combination of drivers on the 1 active versus the passive. Coming in at just below the $100 mark they are packed with premium design features which put them in a front-running position as far as other similarly priced bookshelf sized speakers under $500. I think as an end user you can call Niles to inquire.The R1280T set from Edifier makes for another fantastical value set. Seems like you could put your receivers output into the inputs on the speaker switches and then wire each speaker to the outputs (speakers would actually need to be connected to two different outputs)? What you're trying to do is just reconfigure the speakers on a single amp which is an application that I've never tried before. Normally these switches are used so share two amps with one pair of speakers, or two pair of speakers with one amp. These can all be triggered by 12v, so they could all operate together. I'm not aware of any speaker switches designed for 5.1 setups, but you should be able to accomplish your goal using multiple switches as Kal already mentioned.Ĭheck out the SAS-1 which can also switch line level (for your sub) whcih could be paired with a couple SPK-1's for the additional speakers.
